1. Asia
Asia is the largest continent covering 30% of the world's land area. It is the most populous continent in the world covering 60% of the world's total population. It makes up the eastern portion of the Eurasian Subcontinent. It is connected with the continents, Europe and Africa. It is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean in the north, the Pacific Ocean in the east and the Indian Ocean in the south.
2. Africa
Africa is the second largest and the second most populous continent after Asia. It covers 6% of the world's total surface area and 20% of its land area. Africa is divided by Asia by the Seuz Canal. It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea in the north, the Indian Ocean in the east, the Southern Ocean in the south and the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
3. North America
North America is the third largest continent after Asia and Africa. It is a continent within the Northern Hemisphere. South America is connected with North America by the Country Panama. It is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean in the north, the Atlantic Ocean in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the west.
4. South America
South America is the fourth largest continent in the world. North America is connected with South America by the Country Panama. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean the east, the Southern Ocean in the south and the Pacific Ocean in the west. The world's largest rainforest, The Amazon Rainforest is located in South America.
5. Antarctica
Antarctica is the fifth largest continent in the world. It is mostly covered by ice. Earth's South Pole is located there. Many species of penguins are found there. This continent is fully surrounded by the Southern Ocean.
6. Europe
Europe is the sixth largest or second smallest continent in the world. It is the Western Peninsula of the Supercontinent 'Eurasia'. This continent is highly advanced. Asia is totally connected with Europe. It is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean in the north, the Mediterranean Sea in the south and the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
7. Oceania
Oceania is the smallest continent in the world. It is also known as the Australia Continent because it's largest country is Australia and the Island Continent because it is a continent which is a group of islands. It shares it's border with the Asian country Indonesia by the Oceanian country Papua & New Guinea. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean in the east, the Southern Ocean in the south and the Indian Ocean in the west.
